if we were following a man undoubtedly it would be different.
with us; undoubtedly one human idea would contradict another.

greetings from tennessee.
thank you for your inquiries regarding the barbara anderson vs. watchtower tennessee appellate court hearing, which took place on thursday, april 14, 2005. accompanied by steve and joy imhof, from panama city beach, florida, and our attorney, jerre hood, from winchester, tennessee, we drove to nashville to attend the 1:00 p.m. scheduled appellate hearing.
this hearing was requested last year by defendants in the case, and they are: the numerous corporations of watchtower bible and tract society; watchtower spokespersons, j. r. brown, and david semonian, and certain elders of the manchester, tn congregation of jws.
Hi Barb & Joe...Havn't talked to you lately. Hope things are still looking better. Would love to see you when you make it out West again. Take care, and thanks for all your hard work...there are so many who are and will benefit from your efforts.

i recall wt article titled "is it wise to examine your relgion" and encourged it.s use in fs.
funny they don't want rank & file examing them.
The WT also says all relatives will begin persecuting us when we begin studying. That Jesus said you would lose mothers, fathers, brothers, etc. I remember telling studies that and now realize it is the WT that is the cause of the division, because they don't want anyone associating with anyone who isn't a JW.
Little Bo Peep
i ask this because i have just started a book called, sermon on the mount and i believe the author is "fox".
i have also been reading c.s.
lewis, surprised by joy.
Strange, we were just talking about this earlier this evening. Although raised a JW for over 50 years, I never want that kind of control on my life again. I still believe in the Bible, Jehovah (Yahweh) or..., his son Jesus etc. I think there is some good in all religions, at least good people in them, but don't want to become anyone's project. I don't think there are any religions that are anything like the "congregations" of the apostles times. I believe one should try to show Christian qualities in their lives, the "golden rule" so to speak. The "church" that the Bible speaks of are "people", not buildings and organizations. I am thankful to be truly FREE!

i read here so much that sometimes it makes my head hurt with how much bs i have been fed all of my life.
now that i am studying another religion i am so pissed off i can't see straight.
i don't care to get into a heated debate with my family over what i am choosing to do so i come here asking for 5 questions (there can be plenty more) that i can just say to my family that would give them pause as to why i am not going to their church anymore.
I had several questions asked me that, when I tried researching them, was disalusioned by what I found out. (1) The issue of blood fractions. If blood is to be poured out, where does it say in the Bible that it is OK to produce fractions, using blood that is stored? (2) That Jesus is mediator only for the 144,000. Again, where in the Bible does it say that? The WT says he is our mediator only by our association with the "faithful slave". And (3) That salvation comes not only through Jesus Christ, but it is necessary to be part of Jehovahs "ark of salvation". If we need to be associated with JW's for salvation, isn't that saying that Jesus' sacrifice isn't quite enough? Hope these questions help.

I think there are many, like myself, who at first are "lurkers", then "readers" and finally get the courage to start posting. I have been looking at this site for 4 years, and began posting almost 2 years ago. Some friends of mine love to read the posts, but neither have decided to write any posts. Personally, I think it is very therapudic, and I'm thankful for all the "friends" one has on this site. I am still a "newbie", but my daughter, Lady Liberty, started posting later than I by quite awhile, and she is now a Jedi, with over 1000 posts! Each one does what then can, to the benefit of us all.

here's another article showing how loving jehovah's only channel in the universe is towards their fellow man.
on page 26 of the november 15th craptower study, there's a lovely study article called always accept jehovah's discipline.
in reality, we all know it's really saying "never question the governing body'sdiscipline".. it's starts out with the predicable "no discipline seems for the present to be joyous but grievous", blah, blah, blah.
Appreciate those who post information on the latest literature etc, for those of us who no longer have the literature available to them. My mom-in-law, until the last 4 months, used to make sure we had all the magazines, but I've asked for them several times and she says she hasn't had time to get them together. I think she has been told we don't deserve the fine pearls of wisdom from the magazines. It's interesting also, there is the "book" study and "watchtower" study, but not a "Bible" study, at the Kingdom hall.

the knocking dvd comes with a 48-page study/discussion guide.
it includes information about the making of the film, all the main characters, their early history, expansion, civil rights, their community structure, their preaching methods, and distribution of literature ( that adds up to their annual operation expense of over a billion dollars).. some dvd scenes include:.
people from stratton, ohio being interviewed along with the mayor.
So glad there are ex's like you (and so many others) who can speak with a voice of authority. We appreciate all you've done for the cause of "truth".

this is something i've been mulling over.
just would like to hear opinions as to whether faders, or inactive ones think they are superior to disfellowshipped or disassociated ones?
what is your experience with this?
One thing I have learned from being in the WT for over 50 years, was how judgemental they all are, and how superior they feel. I have come away knowing I never want to be judgemental again. If one is disfellowshipped, asks to be disassociated, or just fades, that is each ones decision, for whatever reason. Personally, I would love to write a letter, but don't want to play their games, making things easy for the elders (who have never even contacted us once in the last 5 years). We'll be content to "fade", although I think we are more noticeable than ever. My mom-in-law, who still speaks to us, told us she was asked to meet with the brothers at the circuit assembly elders meeting. It seems we now have our own website called The True JW's, started our own religion, and are holding seance memorials. The gossip mill is running overtime. So much for fading, at least for now!
